Teachers and students from North Chicago, Illinois, visited the College of Pharmacy

Teachers and students from Neal Math and Science Academy in North Chicago, Illinois, visited the COP as a component of a curricularized group health outreach project for participating P3 students. A tour was followed by lunch with pharmacy students, during which COP students mixed and mingled with the middle schoolers. The goal of the afternoon was to expose Neal students to the pharmacy as a career and how pharmacists help support community health. Food was provided by a locally owned, North Chicago-based restaurant in order to highlight how easy modifications to locally available fare could be an opportunity to support a healthy lifestyle. This partnership was made possible thanks to the generous support of Walgreens.
