Dr. Paul Jones received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago in 1983. He completed his Otolaryngology residency at Rush and stayed on as faculty there through 2015, when he joined the department at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. His positions at Rush included the Section Head of Pediatric Otolaryngology, Acting Chair of the Department, Assistant Dean of Rush Medical College and Associate Provost Student Services at Rush University. He served on the Board of St. Joseph Hospital/Catholic Health Partners, where he had a private practice for many years, as an Annual Trustee for Rush University Medical Center, and was the surgeon member of the National Board for the Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Dr. Jones was recognized by Castle Connolly as one of Chicago’s Top Doctors and by US News and World Report as in the top 1% in his specialty. He is a recipient of the Leonard B. Tow Humanism in Medicine Award from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. He was inducted into the Mark Lepper Society for outstanding teaching while at Rush. He was recognized by faculty and students at Rush and Loyola for being a strong supporter of student and resident learners. He has studied the Residency Match process and has published on senior medical student non-traditional career paths and specialty selection from the student and program director perspectives.
Dr. Jones recently retired from clinical practice. He lives in the Chicago suburbs with his husband, Daniel Murphy, an interior designer, and their rescue dog, Astro.
