Dr. Jessica Cottreaus an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (69É«ÇéƬMS) College of Pharmacy (COP). She is primarily responsible for teaching infectious diseases pharmacotherapy and pharmacology. She teaches and serves as course director for the Applications of Drug Information course in the second year of the professional program. In addition to serving in an advisory capacity to multiple COP committees, she also serves as the COP’s liaison for the Global Health program that offers international learning opportunities to students.
Dr. Cottreau obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Wisconsin in 2006 and completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and a PGY-2 Infectious Diseases Residency at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. She served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy from 2008 until she joined the faculty at 69É«ÇéƬMS in 2013. Her research interests include resistant gram negative pathogens, external factors that influence outcomes in patients with infections and the scholarship of teaching and learning. She has authored a number of papers in the area of infectious diseases and has served as a reviewer for scientific posters and publications.
Dr. Cottreau is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and a Board Certified Infectious Diseases Pharmacist (BCIDP). She is actively involved with the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, and the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists
