Dr. Latva has been with Scholl College since 1992. He is the founder of the podiatry residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center, and restored the podiatry service and served as its chief. He is the recipient of many student teaching awards, and many ‘Golden Apple’ awards from his residents. His chair Dr. John Venson nominated him to the prestigious Harvard-Macy program for teaching excellence. He created the 3rd-year psychomotor skills lab in 1994, which continues to this day. He currently teaches in the 2nd-year surgical course and the Surgery Capstone.
Dr. Latva is board certified by ABFAS and ABPM.
