Professor; Palliative Care Education Faculty Lead

Dr. Catherine Deamant received her medical degree from Rush Medical College in 1987 and completed an internal medicine residency at Michael Reese Hospital in 1990. She worked for 24 years at Cook County Health until retirement in 2014, and remains a voluntary physician. In 2001, she established the Palliative Care Program for Cook County Health. She also served as the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program Director for the joint fellowship with Cook County Health and Rush University Medical Center. She is board certified in internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine. She is a Professor of Clinical Medicine and Faculty Lead for Palliative Care Education at Rosalind Franklin University Chicago Medical School and for Interprofessional Palliative Care Initiatives for the DeWitt C. Baldwin Institute. She is currently serving as Co-Chair of the Curriculum Committee.
