Message From the Program Director

On behalf of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Chicago Medical School, I would like to welcome you to our website. My hope is that you will find all of the information that you need to make an informed decision about your future career needs, and I also hope that you find which you are looking for in our program.

Although our program is small in comparison to others in the area, this allows for more personal and directed education of our residents. A few of my personal goals are to ensure that your voice is heard, your presence is celebrated, and you are never made to feel "like a number".

We pride ourselves on graduating residents well-versed in general internal medicine that will go on to be successful primary care physicians, hospitalists, and intensivists while at the same time nurturing those with more sub-specialized goals in mind so that they are able to match into the subspecialty of their choice, whether that is one of our 5 fellowship programs here at 69É«ÇéƬMS or outside of our program.

Your education will arise from several sources including didactics while on rounds or during our afternoon reports, intern morning reports, noon conferences ran by program leadership or subspecialist, our bimonthly interdisciplinary noon conferences, our state-of-the-art newly renovated simulation lab, and numerous educational interactions with fellows training at our cardiology/endocrinology/infectious disease/pulmonary medicine/hematology–oncology programs here at 69É«ÇéƬMS.

Please browse the site and if there are any questions you have, please utilize the contact information contained herein and we will reply as soon as we can.
