Pulmonary Fellowship Goals and Objectives
- Train highly talented pulmonary medicine specialists for practice in a community-based setting
- Graduates will have developed
鈼� A deep and broad knowledge base of epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, pathophysiology, treatment, and prognosis of lung diseases and conditions that affect the lungs
鈼� Experience in a large variety of clinical settings
鈼� A high level of skill in basic and advance pulmonary procedures
鈼� Leadership skills in a variety of settings and tasks
Pulmonary Fellowship Pathway
- Training at multiple sites will enable
鈼� Development of a large knowledge base of and skills in managing pulmonary patients with a large variety of pulmonary conditions
鈼� Development of a working understanding of a variety of health care delivery and
electronic medical record systems
鈼� An understanding of a variety of pulmonary educators’ perspectives which rounds out an understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in pulmonary medicine
- Emphasis on high yield, actionable, and practical scholarship
- Emphasis on effective and compassionate practice of medicine for all patients
- Large number of pulmonary procedure relevant to pulmonary medicine
- Work/life balance: weekends generally free to rejuvenate and enjoy life
